Lyrics - The Tunnel

20. Nothing

08:11

God has left us here with nothing at all
But pain and fear and suffering
I can see tears on the faces of everyone in this train
And they're crying out in fear and in pain

He's not a handsome man, age of 23
Small and overweight, nothing much to see
He stumbles through the train in confusion
Trying to find his way out of there
I can see it in their eyes and their faces: the painful shadow of doubt and despair

Lights are flashing in this tunnel of despair
And there's nowhere safe for anyone to go
Stone walls surround me and destiny's found me
And we're never gonna get out alive

Suspended in animation, floating through a cloud of air
Crying out in fear of dying, Silenced by so much despair
God has left us here in limbo, on this purgatory train
Hell is opening its jaws, what are we supposed to do

Nothing will shake me
Nothing will break me
Nothing will make me afraid, although we've been misled
Nothing to dream of
...to make believe of
Death will set me free
Finally I can see

What shall we do to get out of this runaway train
We're falling into something unknown
Looking around all I see is panic and fear
The train is drowning in tears

God has left us here with nothing at all
But pain and fear and suffering
What are we gonna do
Against this all devouring void?
What are we gonna do...?

Nothing!
