2. The land of neverending rain
05:49
Dry land it always has been
Dry land is what I have seen - all of my life
Are these raindrops just a joke or are they serious - I don't know
Storm-clouds come and fade away
Downpours each and every day
Are these raindrops just a joke or are they serious - I don't know
The sun in the sky has disappeared
Clouds obstruct the view like we have feared
Is this patch of dry land supposed to keep me alive?
Rivers in the desert, lakes in every town
The water's rising, the land is drowning
People are screaming, children are crying
The cities are falling, the forests are dying
Well, it seems things have really changed
Land and sea have been rearranged
I can hardly recognise the place I used to call mine
"Greenhouse effect", newspapers say
"Ozone layer blown away"
Can you give me a reason for this? Can you give me a reason?
Should I stay here and bear the pain?
Or leave this land of never ending rain
I know things have got to change
My land is drowning in this never ending rain
Should I leave here, to overcome my pain?
It seems so right, it seems so wrong, will I regret it when I'm gone
Water all around me everywhere
Everybody's gone, no one to care
I know things have got to change
